Welcome to Emma's Cook Expedition!!!

Week 1A what is an expedition
I think an expedition is when you want to reach by journeying a goal.
One example of a famous expedition I know about is a monk named Xuan Zang he went to India from china to get Buddhist books.
Agree or disagree with these statements and give a reason
"An expedition is only successful if it reaches its goal."
I agree. It’s only successful when you finish it.
"An expedition can be rewarding even if it does not reach its goal."
I agree. If you participate it would still make you feel good.
"An expedition will only be successful if it is well planned."
It needs to be planned well but sometimes even if it’s well planed it might get a little scrappy.

Week 1B test your knowledge
My expedition experience
Write about an expedition you have been on, or one you would like to go on:
§ Why did you go there?
§ How did you plan the trip?
§ Was it successful or rewarding?
§ What part of it did you like best?
We went on a 3 hour bike ride to a nearby valley that Mum and Dad planned two months. We went there to have a picnic and we took turns to ride the bikes. I loved how we got to stay in a yurt it’s like a tent.

There were three gods that came from the sky and they wanted to see the Earth Mother. They wanted to go back to the sky meanwhile they started the chant. The boat tipped over and they were turned into stone caused by the broken chanting and now the boat is the south island, the brothers are the hills under Aoraki, the highest mountain.
I think it is suggesting that if you want to bow your head bow it down to Aoraki.
Aoraki means "Cloud Piercer" in Maori
Once upon a time…there was a nasty dragon that ate children. The leader wanted to keep his people safe so he sent two men to kill the dragon. They won the fight. The dragon was half dead and he dragged himself across the mountains and desert painting the sand with blood. That is why the mountains are RED and called the Flaming Mountains Here in Turpan.

Week 3C the Climb Begins
Why is everyone carrying so much?
Because they need lots of things to use like when in trouble.
1. Draw a picture of one of the climbers, ready to start the expedition. Label their clothing and explain why each thing is needed.
They need lots of things to keep warm and safe.
2. Draw another picture of what you think is inside your climber’s pack. Label each item and explain why it is needed.
They need food and back up for emergencies.
I forgot to take the helmet if you trip over then your head hits the rocks that won’t be good.LJ
